  • Overview

    The Senior Product Manager is responsible for innovating and managing Teachstone’s product and service portfolio. This individual will be responsible for evaluating the market, leveraging context from multiple prospects including customers, partners, internal stakeholders and market data. The Senior Product Manager is also responsible for the input and maintenance of the product roadmap that makes rational tradeoffs between these competing concerns. Furthermore, you will be responsible for determining product features and capabilities based on needs of these groups, communicating these capabilities to development, and launching new and enhanced products.

     

    This is a full-time position based in Charlottesville, Virginia.

    Responsibilities

    • Understand, articulate and evangelize market needs
    • Know target markets, buyers, and users, as well as the processes they follow to purchase products and drive engagement
    • Define product requirements
    • Build use cases and user stories to communicate with development teams in an agile work environment
    • Work with our UX designers, product architects, and engineering teams to deliver on the product roadmap
    • Plan and coordinate all aspects of product launches, including supporting various sales channels and marketing efforts through delivery of clear value propositions and sales tools
    • Identify, monitor, and analyze indicators to determine how well a product is performing in the market
    • Develop product business plans and establish pricing models and procedures to ensure alignment with value delivered to the market
    • Manage software consultants and strategic third-party vendors central to our product offering
    • Support product organization through people leadership and professional development
    • Other duties as needed to support Teachstone as the organization matures

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 5+ years product management experience
    • Experience in product lifecycle management
    • Background in software development and program management is preferred
    • Ability to translate product capabilities into a cohesive, compelling story that effectively conveys market needs
    • Team player who shares problem-solving responsibilities with the team and offers creative responses to new challenges
    • Experience and comfort working in a high-growth organization and enthusiasm for a fast-paced, collaborative work environment
    • Values-driven, self-motivated critical thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit
    • Proven ability to easily transition into new industries and efficiently gain an understanding of new markets and their problems
    • Adept use of technology, including Microsoft Office Suite applications, Google applications, and video and multimedia presentation tools
    • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
