  • Overview

    This position handles various aspects of accounting for the organization.  This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing/posting general journal entries, contract invoicing, tracking sales commissions, and budget and audit preparation.  We are looking for a high-energy individual that is comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment that is deadline oriented.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Assists with month end closing processes
    • Assists with preparing preliminary monthly financial statements
    • Monthly contract invoicing and contract utilization reconciliations
    • Creates and maintains contract utilization summaries
    • Maintains and reconciles monthly commissions schedules for sales staff
    • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining contract customer accounts, including but not limited to, customer calls, account adjustments, small balance write-offs, customer reconciliations, and processing credit memos
    • Reconciles and maintains general ledger accounts
    • Maintains depreciation schedules and ensures the proper recording of additions and disposals
    • Assists with budget and annual audit preparation
    • Assists with daily deposits
    • Assist with daily invoicing as necessary
    • Reconciles department invoicing monthly to ensure accuracy
    • Tracks department metrics to be reported to the Accounting Manager
    • Maintains tax compliance and records as assigned
    • Communicates with staff, customers, vendors, etc. regarding accounting issues
    • Completes other assignments and projects as required

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
    • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in applying accounting principles and concepts.
    • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
    • Analytical approach to problem solving.  
    • Experience using accounting software with demonstrated proficiency at the intermediate-level
    • Intermediate level proficiency using word processing and spreadsheet software
    • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and mathematical accuracy
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team setting
    • Displays ability to identify and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company financial data
    • Effective written and oral communication skills

     

    Preferred Software Experience:  

    • Quickbooks Enterprise 17.0
