Your work will help teachers become better educators by helping ensure that our internal staff have the tech-enabled tools they need to maximize the impact of their work on our customers.

    You will lead our IT department, ensuring that our internal customers have the best experience possible as consumers of technology within Teachstone, defining and automating processes, ensuring our internal staff have access to the resources they need while ensuring that information is properly secured, administering systems used by internal employees, working closely with 3rd-party vendors used for IT infrastructure, and automating the onboarding and offboarding of employees at Teachstone to make it a self-service process for people leaders within Teachstone. You will work with every team, throughout Teachstone.


    • Lead our IT department
    • Ensure all employees have access to all resources they require to do their jobs while balancing security practices to make sure private data stays private
    • Define, document, and automate processes in use by the IT team
    • Follow industry-standard security best practices to keep employee data and Teachstone intellectual property safe and secure
    • Automate onboarding and offboarding from relevant applications and systems for employees at Teachstone
    • Troubleshoot vendor-related issues with teams within Teachstone and work with teams in Teachstone to integrate vendor software into our systems into internal infrastructure
    • Determine strategy for IT as you work with teams within Teachstone and understand their needs and where we need to scale IT as a company
    • Work closely with 3rd-party vendors for all systems IT manages for the purposes of troubleshooting and integration
    • Be an overall quality leader and support both internal software development efforts and customer support efforts


    • Experienced with configuring and troubleshooting networking gear (routers, switches, firewalls, desktop devices, mobile devices)
    • Experienced with writing, maintaining, and implementing information security and application access policies
    • Solid experience and comfort working with and interacting with external vendors (problem identification and resolution, account management)
    • Experience with leading on-call and first line troubleshooting efforts for internal infrastructure and systems issues
    • Experienced with defining and automating IT processes
    • Experienced with documenting processes for yourself and others
    • Experienced with at least one Unix-based automation scripting language (Applescript, ruby, python, perl, etc)
    • Experienced with provisioning and managing Mac desktops
