  • Overview

    In this position, the HR Generalist is responsible for performing duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, affirmative action, benefits management, and payroll functions. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The generalist must be sensitive to organizational and business needs along with employee goodwill.


    • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook
    • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
    • Prepares new employee files and processes new hire paperwork
    • Assists with recruiting efforts by phone screening and interviewing candidates
    • Manages the day-to-day benefits administration responsibilities and recommends changes in benefits offered
    • Manages the development of benefits orientations and other benefits trainings for employees; open enrollment management and execution
    • Manages and processes semi-monthly payroll
    • Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9.
    • Distributes and monitors employee annual performance evaluations and ensures they are completed in a timely manner
    • Updates, monitors and maintains eligible salary adjustments/increases based on six month and one-year evaluations.
    • Reports, maintains and monitors all workers' compensation case files; follows-up on open cases.
    • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
    • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws ans regulations


    • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business or related field
    • Two to three years of HR Generalist experience
    • Specialized knowledge in areas of recruiting, benefits administration, workers' compensation, payroll, and training and development
    • Excellent active listening, negotiating, and presentation skills
    • Exceptional interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and relationship-building skills with all levels of the company
    • Proficient understanding of HRIS software (ADP WorkforceNow)
    • Experience with iCIMS preferred
