  • Overview

    This position oversees and manages the accounting department on a daily basis.  The Accounting Manager is responsible for keeping all Finance projects on task and ensuring that financial statements are issued in a timely manner.  This person will maintain all accounting systems and work inter-departmentally to ensure all reporting needs are met. We are looking for a high-energy individual that is comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment that is deadline oriented. 

    Responsibilities

    • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
    • Supervise, direct, and review the work of the accounting staff
    • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
    • Manage month and year end closing processes to produce accurate and timely financial statements
    • Coordinate and complete annual audits
    • Oversee and direct team projects
    • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
    • Monitor cash flow and collections
    • Oversee tax form preparation and filing, including 1099s
    • Assist with budget planning and cash forecasting
    • Interpret the company's financial results to management and recommend improvement activities

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
    • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in applying accounting principles and concepts.
    • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
    • Analytical approach to problem solving.
    • Experience using accounting software with demonstrated proficiency at the intermediate to advanced level
    • Advanced level proficiency using word processing and spreadsheet software
    • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and mathematical accuracy
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team setting
    • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to keep projects on task
    • Displays ability to identify and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company financial data
    • Effective written and oral communication skills
