The Content Innovation team supports this work by designing and maintaining the trainings and resources that help our learners grow. Instructional Designers at Teachstone are responsible for leading the development of trainings and resources that cultivate behaviors among our adult learners that ultimately benefit children.


  • Coordinating with the Product Management team to understand design requirements
  • Eliciting actionable insights and feedback from subject matter experts
  • Planning and leading efforts to gather feedback from users
  • Leading project teams to define specific and measureable behavioral outcomes for programs
  • Using the principles of backwards design to create highly targeted learning experiences
  • Collaborating with other instructional designers to improve the quality of learning designs
  • Working in sync with other Content teammates to enable efficient production processes

Other areas of responsibility include:

  • Leading project teams within the Content team
  • Collaborating with the scrum master to estimate and adjust work plans
  • Developing appropriate levels of CLASS® expertise at various age levels
  • Supporting the Professional Services team as they learn to deliver new or revised programs
  • Participating in the continuous improvement of design and production processes


  • Uses adult learning principles to design for adults in the workforce
  • Negotiates conflicting perspectives and make principled learning design decisions
  • Leads teams to solve problems collaboratively
  • Gives and receives feedback in a manner that supports continuous improvement
  • Writes and organizes complex content in a clear and concise manner


  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design or a related field
  • Masters degree preferred


  • At least three years experience designing diverse learning experiences:
    • Face-to-face and online
    • Synchronous and asynchronous
  • Experience with industry-standard authoring tool preferred
